We’re having FUN…

We arrived at Scott’s yesterday afternoon just in time to watch the boys play baseball and what a fun game it was.  They are on the 4-6 year old team and those guys had so much fun even though they came up just a tad short on the scoreboard.  Some of those guys were so SMALL, and not really aware of what they needed to do, but they were all just so adorable to watch.  One little guy ran like the character “Chicken Little” and his helmet would wobble as he tried to run the bases…those little legs didn’t move very fast…but he gave it his all each time it was his turn.  Turner and Neyland both did well and they seem to have a much better concept of just what the game of baseball is all about…more so than most of their team mates.  Regardless, we loved watching them and know they will both be good ball players as they grow bigger and stronger.

Today Scott is working, the boys are at school, Allison is at a friend’s birthday lunch, so George and I went into Memphis and visited with some former neighbor’s and friends…Brad and Maranda and their BIG baby Silas…he’s only 17 months old but about the size of a two year old.  When they first came to seminary six, or so, years ago, they just lived a few doors down from us but soon became good friends.  His parents would visit them often and always stayed in our “blue house” so it was a double treat today to see them…they got to town yesterday from Michigan…and it’s a reminder of the bond between believers.  Truly a special few hours for us and we thank them for loving these old folks all these many years!

We will be here through the weekend and know Scott will enjoy entertaining us for two more days.  It was 102 while we were in Memphis, but Millington isn’t quite as hot as it’s only 98 here.  Sure been a warm…OK I’ll say it HOT…summer and no signs of any real cooling off for a while yet.  Still better than cold and snow!!!

I’ll be back soon to update on any, and all, exciting things we do here before we head back to Wilmore.  Glad Linda and Jim are safely home from China and looking forward to hearing all about their time there.  Jerre continues to improve and the infection is almost gone and he’s taking his meds like he should and we’re all praying that that will never return.  Twice is two times to many!  Sorry that Kevin and Tori’s grandmother passed and I know the emptiness will be felt for a long time.  Guess that’s it for now.  Love to each of you and enjoy another fun weekend…we sure will!

Blessings……..
