Here it is the fourth day of November and I think fall is really trying to arrive. We’ve had record breaking days this last week, and I’m loving it, but I’m hearing nothing but complaints from those around me. The leaves are keeping everyone busy as they clutter up the yards but the changing colors are pretty. Since we’ve had little rain, our colors aren’t as pretty this year but it’s still pretty.
Last weekend we were in Louisville with Madi and Tyler and that was a fun time. Tyler was so excited that he did well at the UofL baseball showcase and he’s sure hoping they’ll eventually want him to come join their team….said it will be his dream come true! Madi had fun at the church’s trick or trunk and enjoyed passing out candy to the kids with some of her friends. Melissa and Byron, along with his sisters and their husbands, had a fun get-away celebrating Byron’s 50th birthday.
Also this last week, Lind Lou had surgery on her foot again and we’re all praying it will be 100% successful. She did have a little set back and ended up back in the hospital, but she’s doing better now from what little we’re hearing. George had his second cataract surgery this week and that, too, is proving to be successful. Seems as though we’re all needing something fixed!
This week our refrigerator decided it no longer wanted to work…probably quit cooling while we were in Louisville…so we lost most of what was in that freezer and some of the other things in the fridge. We did get a repairman right out here, but the part that’s needed to get it to cool again had to be ordered and they won’t be back for a WEEK. That’s a long time to not have a fridge! Even though we have a mother/daughter at the “blue house”, we were able to keep some stuff over there and the rest is in a couple of coolers here. Thankfully, no one else will be at the “blue house” until next Friday and surely we’ll have our fridge up and running by then. Oh the joys of ownership and they sure don’t make appliances like they did at one time.
Vanessa had another birthday yesterday and we’re thankful for her and what she means to all of us. She finally got her dad’s part of the house redesigned, and decorated, and it’s beautiful! I know he’s going to love it and will continue to adjust to life without Smitty.
Guess I’d better get out and walk before I get busy around here. Enjoy these beautiful days and keep praying for Linda Lou. Love to you all.
Blessings…..
