Another week gone

Here it is Friday night already and it seems as though the week just got started.  I did accomplish a lot, however… we helped Melissa for three days, I worked in my yearly check with my doctor and got a haircut while in Louisville, helped the Crockett’s celebrate Tanya’s birthday yesterday, and am currently watching the kids while Daniel takes Tanya out for a special birthday dinner.  Tomorrow Sean and Branden will come in and we’re excited about that.  I know they will love the Wilmore Arts and Craft Fair!  Small towns have small ways but it’s always fun.  It will certainly be different than anything they’ve ever attended, I’m sure.

Fall has really made it’s presence here…low’s are in the low 40’s and our high today was only 69.  It is suppose to warm up a little the next few days but this is a perfect time of the year.  Of course, it’s horrible for the allergies, but I’ll just live with that to enjoy these beautiful days.

I continue to enjoy my ladies Bible class on Thursdays…The Patriarchs by Beth Moore…and I especially enjoy getting to know some of the young women in the class.  They are all very serious about their Christian walk and that is so refreshing!  I am probably the oldest one in the class…no probably about it, I AM… but that’s OK. Maybe, just maybe, I can be an influence on them since I have a lot of life experiences that they haven’t had to face just yet.  Regardless, it’s a good class and I’m glad I’m taking it.

We will be going to our first Life Group meeting this Sunday night.  Again, we’re looking forward to meeting more people.  We’ll be having a cookout at one of the couple’s home and then decide as a group just what we’d like to study.  I’ll let you know later how that goes.

We have finally gotten a place in Florida for our January and February sabbatical.  It’s a condo in Cape Haze…not too far from where we’ve gone the last five years, very close to Boca Grande, and we think it will be nice.  It’s a little further from the beach, but that’s OK since we don’t mind the extra miles and don’t go every day.  It has a swimming pool where I can tan on the days we don’t go to the beach.  We’ve never stayed in a condo before…that will be something new for this year and we may even like it better.  We will miss having the boat dock that we fished off of most days, but guess we’ll just find another spot for that sport since we never keep anything we caught.  May have to go into Venice and fish with Ron and Jean!

May God continue to shine his grace and favor on each of you reading this blog and may you find joy and peace in each day you serve Him.

Blessings……..
