Almost over…

We had a fun time on the cruise and Chase and Tara’s wedding was a grand occasion for all of us that got to attend.  There were 30+ in attendance for the wedding…which I thought was good as everyone came from far away…and 20+ that went on the cruise.  The reception was over-the-top with LOUD music, lots of dancing, and very good food.  The wedding cake was red velvet and everyone said it was delicious.  We pray they will have many happy years together.

The cruise itself was fun.  Of course, Carnival is definitely a party cruise line and designed for the younger crowd.  We did manage to keep ourselves entertained by people watching, sunbathing, reading, resting and EATING. We enjoyed our day in Nassau and had a very good native as our tour guide.  We saw lots of poverty throughout the city and they have no government assistance there so it’s pretty much every man for himself…or they take care of each other.  We were both amazed at the amount of conch that they harvest…one of their main sources of revenue.  Of course, tourism is their main revenue.  We really didn’t do any shopping…do not need another T-shirt or trinket…or even look in the shops, except on Paradise Island.  Thankfully, every thing there was nothing we’d want or could afford.  That area is such a contrast to where you enter the city and only the very upper class could afford to live there.  It was a good time and we enjoyed ourselves and thankful we were able to go.

Today it’s a rainy day…and boy do they need the rain…so we won’t be doing much.  We only have six days before we head for home and the time has gone by fast.  I do plan to get in a few more days of sitting on the sunny beach but we’ll have to see if that’s going to happen.

Have a good “hump” day and enjoy your warmer-than-normal winter days.  I believe the winter weather will show up once we get home….sure hope I’m wrong.  Love to you all.

Blessings….
