What a perfect day today

We are having absolutely gorgeous weather right now!  Fall is such a beautiful season.  We are suppose to get some rain on Wednesday and we’re more than ready for it.  It has literally been months since we’ve had any…we’re about 6 inches below normal…bring it on, Lord, we’re ready!

We had such a nice weekend.  Sean and Branden came over Saturday afternoon and it was good getting to visit with them.  They are both busy with school but said they will be back and wanted to know if they could bring a friend.  They didn’t boo and hiss to much about our little town, or our version of a fall Arts and Craft fair,  and Branden even found lots to take picture of for a school project…he’s a photography major.  It’s hard to believe Sean is 24 and Branden is 21 but time flies by once you get out of your 30’s.

We enjoyed our first Life Group last night.  This first meeting was a get aquainted cookout…hot dogs…with several different sides and desserts.  It’s been ages since I’ve roasted a hot dog over an open fire…it was editable!  We also decided as a group to study the book of Ephesians and I look forward to that.  This group has about a dozen people in it so it’s not a real large one…5 couples and 2 single ladies…and we’ll be hosting it the next time we meet (Oct. 19).  It’s definitely a good way to meet others.

I guess tomorrow will have to be the day I break down and clean house.  I keep putting it off and do only what is absolutely necessary but it’s getting a life of it’s own.  This house gets a lot of dust due to the train tracks two blocks away…at least that’s who’s getting credit for i!…and we keep the windows/doors open, so it’s not a wonder there’s dust all over.   Oh well, that’ll give me something to do tomorrow.

Friday George will be going on the mens retreat with the Okolona men and I’ll go to Louisville to spend time with the Gabehart’s.  I called Melissa today and told her to plan a date night since I’d be there with the kids.  Ryan is 13 so it’s getting a little difficult to have a sitter come for the evening that’s not the same age as he is…Ryan may not mind that but his parents sure do!  Melissa isn’t  quite ready to leave them alone for any length of time because she isn’t sure they won’t kill each other.  These are difficult years but I feel sure they will all survive.

Have a great week and I’ll be back soon.

Blessings………
