June is almost over

My, oh my, this month has flown by so fast.  It’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that 2018 is half over and it seems as though it just started.  It’s just a constant reminder of how rapidly life is and how quickly it will be over.

We were all sorry to hear of the passing of J.T.   I know Lou, and the girls, will miss him terrible and the void will always be there.  He was a very kind, and gentle, spirit that loved family beyond measure.  Rest in peace, Jake, and we’ll see you soon.

I have successfully endured my second, and last, colonoscopy and I am very happy for that.  The first one I had in 2011 was a one day prep “evening” but now they have you prep for three days.  YES for THREE days.  Two days of just eating protein items, one full day of only clear liquids, and you think you might starve by this point, and then the event.  Mine was just routine and I got a good report so guess it was worth it.  May I never have to be on a clear liquid diet ever again.  I love vegetables and all the other stuff I was denied for those three days.

We had a great time at Tyler’s graduation party and he felt really honored.  He is such a good “man” and is just waiting for his physical date to be set and he’ll be off to basic training for the Air National Guard.  He won’t start at the University of Alabama until the fall of 2019 since he’ll be spending this year doing all the required things for the Guards.  He’s ready to get it going but learning a lot about patience while waiting.

We enjoyed the Reds vs the Cubs game on Sunday afternoon and some of us were more smiley than others…I won’t mention the unsmiley names.  The Reds beat the Cubs all four games so a lot of fans were there.  It was HOT but such a fun day and so glad we were able to go.  We do enjoy going but distance and time become a factor even with our boring lives.

Guess that’s about it.  Praying for Jerre to get good results from the MRI and PET Scan on the 29th…he said he’s feeling pretty good currently and not overly anxious about these test.  Linda and Jim are headed to DC today and he will work while she plays and then they will vacation for a couple of days.  Melissa will return home today from San Antonio where she’s enjoyed a few days of training…hope she got to enjoy some of the river walk and the Alamo.  Life is busy but we continue to all be blessed beyond measure.  Love to you all.

Blessings…
