Sunday

What a fun weekend we had.  George said the men’s retreat was very good and he enjoyed seeing the men from OCC.  He even played golf Friday with a couple of the guys before the retreat started and he hasn’t done that for years.  He said he did poorly but he enjoyed the outing.  I spent my time on Friday with Melissa…we got a pedicure, went to lunch, and then she went to work and I did my BeautiControl deliveries before the kids got home.  It was good seeing some of my good clients and friends.  On Friday night, Melissa and Byron had a date and the kids and I hung around the house.  We played “chicken foot” until they got bored with it, then watched a little TV.  Melissa and Byron didn’t stay out late since Byron was taking Ryan and Kyle deer hunting the next morning…as far as I know the deer are still in the woods.  On Saturday, the hunters left out early and we got around and out the door by 10 a.m. for Madi’s gymnastics class.  Madi’s been ask to test for the competition team and will do so this coming Saturday.  Let’s hope she makes it ’cause she sure is excited about the possibility of doing so.  From the gym we went to lunch and then the zoo.  We got there around 12:30 p.m. and there was a sign stating the zoo would close at 2 p.m. in order for them to get ready for the “biggest Halloween Party” around…it will go through the end of the month.  We got to see most everything they wanted to see so that was enough time…we didn’t have to be out until 3 p.m.   After that we went shopping and finally got back to the house after George had gotten there…around 5 p.m.  So, we had a long day and we were all tired.  I haven’t a clue as to when the hunters got in so I’m sure they were really tired.  Needless to say, it was good getting back home and we were in the bed by 10:30 and asleep by 10:31, or there about!

This afternoon we went to Berea, KY to their Arts and Craft Fair.  This is sponsored by the KY Artist Guild so it was art and not the “craft” stuff you find at a lot of fairs.  We didn’t purchase anything, but we may buy a print George found once we decide where we’d put it.  That photographer was quite skilled.  It was another warm day and the trees are really becoming quite colorful even with the severe drought we’re having…so this was another successful outing.

This evening George and a neighbor caught three kittens from one of the feral cats around here and they are currently out in the carriage house in a box.  They will be taken to the shelter in the morning.  They really are cute but I don’t want any kind of pet and I’m sure the shelter will find them a good home very soon.

We got word this evening that our good friend Carolyn Davis had a stroke while visiting a friend in Indiana.  They took her to a hospital there and they stat-flighted her back to Louisville.  I hope to go see her on Tuesday and I’m requesting that all you reading this please pray for her.  Also, Lacey’s did well with her surgery on Friday and they are predicting her recovery time as 2-3 months and not the 12 months they originally thought.  Tomorrow Jerod and Blake will be getting their tonsils out so this will be a long week for them.  Since all these others are getting attention, I decided I need some too.  For several weeks I’ve had a lot of pain in my left arm…too much crocheting…and I feel sure I have carpal tunnel but I’m hoping for tendonitis since that will go away eventually.  I’ll see the doctor on Wednesday and I’ll let you know later what I find out.

May each of you feel God’s presence in your life this week.  Our country is trying it’s best to fall apart, but God is faithful and I’ll keep my focus on Him and not the stock market.

Blessings………..
