We had a wonderful Easter weekend inspite of the very cold weather…NO Easter bonnets this year. George and I had 24 for dinner and loved having everyone here. We had our friend Phyllis Trevathan from Texas, her two daughters and their families, Tanya and her family, Melissa and her family, Clark’s three kids, and then George and I. Clark and Vanessa are in Iowa looking over a possible job change for him…we’ll know more on this later this week…Scott and Carter couldn’t make it this year. Thanks girls for all the help with the dinner…EVERYTHING was delicious! My daughters are both excellent cooks!
I’m so thankful to know that Jesus has been raised and we no longer have to fear death! Being with so many believers this weekend was very refreshing and exciting.
George and I walked the 4 + miles for the March of Dimes on Saturday morning and it was so-o-o-o-o very cold…low 20’s. My fingers, even with gloves, just about froze and so did my face. Finally on about the second mile I started to thaw out. It was a good walk and we’ll likely do it again. If the wind had not been blowing it wouldn’t have been bad even with those cold temperatures. There were hundreds that also braved the elements, so the March of Dimes should have collected lots of money.
Have a good week and let’s pray for a little warmer temperatures. My tulips are laying on the ground and I’m hoping the liliac tree will survive…they smell wonderful and that’s my favorite thing in our yard. Time will tell, but I couldn’t cover them all, so I just let nature do it’s thing and I will just have to adjust.
Blessings..
where in Iowa are Clark and Vanessa looking?
My tulips are down also but so far the lilac bush has not sprung any leaves or buds. It is usually a little later, so hoping it is ok. Don’s favorite too.
