This week has been a busy week. Monday we had Meredith and Grayson while the remainder of their family was at a surgery center so Jerod and Blake could get their tonsils removed. This has been a very long week for those two…especially Jerod. He’s suffered with a lot of nausea and vomiting along with the extremely sore throat. If fact, he’s eaten virtually nothing all week…liquids but that’s about all. Blake has faired better but he’s still had a rough week. Hopefully, they will have this all behind them within the next few days.
I talked to Lacey today and she sounds better and said she’s doing well. Her first physical therapy session was a doozy and very painful, but I know that is necessary in order for her to have full use of her arm the rest of her life.
I went to the hand doctor myself this week and I’ll now be going to a nerve specialist…did that years ago and that’s no picnic! Once that is done the hand doctor will decide on what treatment is necessary. All I know is that my arm is painful and has a burning sensation nearly all the time. The doctor did say I could crochet with my brace on so I have done a “little” but I can’t do it for long. Oh the joys of aging and falling apart!
Madi took her gymnastic test today and she made the competition team. Needless to say, she is excited. They will have their competitions January-March. We’ll miss the January and February ones since we’ll be in Florida, but we will definitely make those in March. The kids are so cute and these may be some of our future Olympians…One can only hope! I understand it can get quite expensive and very time consuming so I have serious doubts she’ll go that far.
The days have finally turned into beautiful fall days with very cool nights and the changing seasons are sure a welcome relief from the heat. We got rain on Thursday but we need a lot more. Even the little bit we got Thursday has sure helped things look greener and we’re thankful for having received it.
We’re having our life group here tomorrow night and we’re looking forward to that. All the people in our group seem very nice and I’m hoping we will really mesh with them. One of the guys in our group is going to be teaching a pottery class and I’m seriously considering signing up for it. I’ve always thought that looked like fun but I feel sure it’s much more difficult than it appears…got to see how my arm is doing before I’ll commit. We’re studying the book of Ephesians and that should be a good study.
Continue to pray for my Mother as she’ll be having her third epidural injections on Friday. She hates the thought of being put to sleep but that’s a necessity. She continues to have trouble walking and is dreading the fact she would ever have to use her cane or walker all the time…but, it may just be time! Also, please pray for my best friend, Frances, that’s dealing with Alzheimer’s. She’s so special to me and I pray that her life can be one of peace.Â
I’ve rattled long enough. Have a wonderful worship experience tomorrow and listen as you go about each day this next week…God is speaking!
Blessings…….
