We had a great time in Florida this year with near perfect weather on most days. We did have a cool snap…in the 40’s for the low and low 60’s for the high…but most days were in the mid to upper 70’s and went as high as the upper 80’s. We enjoyed more beach time this year, ate lots of good foods…especially scallops, shrimp, and lobster for me.., George did a little fishing with Ron, saw a couple of good movies, and spent time with some amazing friends.
On our last night there, we went to one of our favorite restaurants for a delicious dinner, watched a beautiful sunset…even had dolphins show up…and it concluded with a beautiful rainbow. We could see God’s handiwork in so many ways throughout those two months, especially after the devastating December we went through, and we are so grateful.
Spending time with a few family members…Teresa, Richard, Cooper, Scarlett, Max, Carter, Lori, Rita, and Angela…is always a plus. The love we have for each of them grows with each time of being together and we will look forward to it all happeniing again next year.
Yesterday we took a little side jaunt so we could stop by and see Linda and Jim…and Jerod dropped by for about an hour as he was in between classes. Linda looks very good and only has two more chemo treatments to go, hopefully. She tires easily, which was expected, but she sure hasn’t let it get her down. Please continue to pray for her to have complete healing and the 6 chemo treatments will be adequate.
George and I have worked hard to get all our stuff put away and it’s questionable as to why we think we need all that stuff every year. We got it all done before we hit the bed last night and then did the final stuff today. The grocery shopping is done and that was a major job since we had virtually nothing here. I had used up EVERYTHING possible before we left and it’s now pretty much back to being restocked.
The people that used our home while we were gone were fantastic. The house was spotless and she had done some really deep cleaning…especially on George’s shower stall. We need to go away every few months and let them stay here while we’re gone. They are a sweet family that will soon be moving to Israel to do mission work there. May God continue to bless them and protect them in this new endeavor.
Tanya cooked us a delicious dinner last night to welcome us home and that was special. As we had nothing here for me to cook…which wasn’t likely I’d do after traveling for two day even if we had something here…and catching up on what’s going on with them and our little town, made it a special homecoming welcome.
Guess I’ll stop rambling for now. It is good to be home but I sure don’t like the GLOOM that’s here today, snow predicted tonight, and the cold temperatures that are only going to get colder for the next few days, weeks, months. I REALLY NEED SUNSHINE AND BRIGHT DAYS! Stay warm, well…glad Clark and Vanessa are over the flu along with his pneumonia…and looking forward to spring arriving early. Love to you all.
Blessings….
