Eighteen years ago today, our country was brought to our knees by the unthinkable events that unfolded. To be that evil to want to destroy so many is just beyond me. America was changed immediately and the security we felt previously may never be returned fully. The following day we were all still filled with shock, showed more compassion for those in the midst of the destruction, and showed bravery in wanting to keep more from happening….but it hasn’t lasted. Yes, we are still brave…at least in word…but the compassion has faded away and the shock has turned to hatred. May we all examine our heart/minds and become the people God would want us to be.
We had a great time in Florida with Carter, Lori, Butch, Jean, David, Chase, Tara, Sonny, Chance, Emily, and Jackson. The weather was beyond HOT but that should be expected for the end of August or the first week of September. The hurricane that was coming up the Atlantic side, created good size waves the first of the week and blew all the biting flies to our area. They were a pest among all pest…and the bites sting. Most days were in the upper 90’s with humidity trying to match it, but it never prevented us from having a good day at the beach. Thanks again, Carter/Lori, for making this happen. Looking forward to next fall and doing it all again…maybe we could leave off the biting flies.
We’ve been busy since we got home with laundry, house work, and yard work that went crazy while we were gone…weeds took full advantage of my being gone and grew like crazy! I do believe that that’s the first time in our marriage that I went 10 days and did NO laundry…I was truly on vacation.
Guess that’s about it. Stay cool…very hot here today (mid 90”s again)…and let’s all do our part to get the attitude back where we truly care about others. Love to you all.
