How did a whole year fly by so quickly? It seems like I just had my 77th birthday and now it’s time for the 78th. I really don’t feel old…unless I move a certain way at times…but, then again, I’m not sure what I should be feeling. I’m just thankful for my life, the health I have, and being blessed daily by the Lord and cared for by George. Life is good!
Our time here in Florida is simply flying by and we only have 22 days left before we head home. So far February has been good but definitely cooler than January. Yesterday it was really warm…78 with lots of wind and humidity…while today it’s cooler…only 68 but still windy. Regardless of what we’re blessed with, it sure beats the snow that’s currently falling in Wilmore.
We enjoyed being with two couples…Robert & Peggy Moore and Bob and Kathy Ahern…from our life group the other day. One couple own down here but the other ones are heading back towards KY today. Our day, and lunch, together was near perfect and we’re blessed to call them friends.
This week is full of family birthdays…on the 6th we celebrated Chase, today (7th) we celebrate Tyler, tomorrow it’s my turn, and then on Sunday the 9th we celebrate Margie. Then on the 12th the twins will celebrate their big day…they are growing up so fast. They are loving their school and currently playing basketball with all wins and only two more games to go for a perfect season. Of course, football is just around the corner and I do believe that’s Neyland’s favorite.
We went over the Port Charlotte yesterday to shop at Macy’s…closest one to us…and I found a dress for Jerod’s wedding. I had to shop while here so I could use my birthday discount and saved $27.50 so I was pleased…and I like the dress. Hope I’ll have another occasion to wear it at some point. We don’t do much “fancy stuff” in Wilmore so time will tell.
Guess that’s about it for now. We’re still enjoying our time here but there are things we miss at home…not the snow. While here, we’ve seen several movies, eaten at really good restaurants, enjoyed many beach days, and being with both old, and new, friends. We were invited to a “1/2 block” party the other night and that was fun meeting those that live at that end of our block.
Have a great weekend and we’re looking forward to Carter and Lori being here next weekend for just 2 1/2 days. Those busy work schedules have a way of getting in the way of beach time, unfortunately. Love to all and stay warm.
Blessings….
