A beautiful day in the neighborhood…

Here it is Thursday, the sun is shining bright, the winds have calmed down, and it’s only in the high 50’s…all is well in Abilene!  George and I went over to walk at ACU this morning around the new walking trail and enjoyed doing so…albeit a goose wanted to chase me on my first time around but I was too quick for it.  The campus is really pretty and they are building several new buildings so I guess it continues to thrive.

We got here on Tuesday evening and Mother had her famous chuck roast dinner ready and, as always, it was delicious.  Yesterday she fixed a HUGH breakfast so we did the late lunch/early dinner that afternoon at “Little Italy” and it too was delicious.  Today we refused breakfast but we will be going to Harold’s for lunch whenever Dad gets home from golfing.  We’re hoping Patsy will be able to join us since she’ll be going to Dallas later this evening for something with Mary Kay…Lorin is out of town with his work but will be back Friday night so we hope to see him on Saturday.

We have managed to play several rounds of Texas 42 but I won’t declare who the champions are until Saturday.  So far it’s looking pretty good but the dominoes can turn on you on any given round!  It’s lots of fun and mother really enjoys playing, as do I, so we always manage to play while we’re together.

Dad just got in so I guess we’ll be heading out before much longer for lunch.  All those familiar with Harold’s sorry you won’t be with us for some of his famous bar-b-que.  We’ll let you know if it’s any good!

Have a good day and I’ll be back soon.

Blessings……….
