A rainy, cold Saturday

Today we’re experiencing the first affects of winter wanting to make its self known.  It’s rainy, windy, and the high is only in the mid-40’s with a chance of snow/rain tonight.  Oh for the sandy beaches of Florida!!!

This week has gone by quickly and I don’t feel like much was really accomplished.  Monday was catch up day from being gone to Texas the week before along with another PT session for my arm, I don’t remember doing anything special on Tuesday, went to Shelbyville on Wednesday with George,Tanya, and Melissa to check out the Crockett’s photo proofs which were fabulous, Thursday was ladies class, Friday was another non eventful day, and now it’s Saturday.  We do have Melissa’s dog, Pal, staying with us until tomorrow…we got him on Wednesday.  Melissa’s family is at a Gabehart fall get together and since the host/hostess have cats, Pat was not invited.  He’s been no problem but he seems to have really missed his family this time…he cried the first time he saw a school bus and there was no Ryan and Kyle get off.  I felt sorry for him!

We’re getting anxious for Thanksgiving and spending time with those that will be able to meet at Scott and Allison’s in Atoka, TN.  I’m sure we’ll have lots of good food, confusion, noise, 42 games, food, confusion, more noise, and a lot of half finished conversations.  Did I mention noise, confusion and food?  Should be a fun time!

This next week we will be finishing up our Beth Moore ladies class.  It’s been a good study on the Patriarch’s and I’m glad I attended.  I studies Jacob and Esau several years ago with Liz Curtis-Higgs and that was by far the greatest ladies class ever.  This current study covered a lot of the same things, but it was just presented so differently.  Both ladies are truly gifted by God and are a true witness to Him.

My “ulnar nerve” in my left arm seems to be settling down somewhat.  It’s still painful and burns at times but so much better than it was a month ago.  The PT seems to be helping and she said it will take quite a while for it to heal completely…especially since there is no apparent reason for it to be acting up.  Guess it’s just another one of the joys of growing older!  Notice I said older and not OLD.

As far as I know all the family, except for Blake who has pneumonia, is well.  Blake is doing better so he  should be back in school on Monday.  We seem to be having a hard time trying to work in a date for our family Christmas this year.  Everyone is busy or having other family obligations this year.  We certainly understand with a family this size, that it will get harder and harder for us all to be together at any given time.  Makes me sad but I really do understand it!

Have a great worship experience tomorrow and may this next week be a good one for you.  We’re still praying for my mom as she’s still experiencing a lot of pain.  She’ll be going to a “nerve” doctor this next week and they are going to try and pin-point exactly which nerve is the problem.  I’m not sure what will be done then but surely something.  Enjoy this next week!

Blessings……..
