Here it is Thursday and only one more week before we head out and I can’t wait. It’s currently only 12 degrees, going down to zero tonight, and a high of only 16 is being predicted for tomorrow. Florida is having a cool snap, also, but I’ll take the coolness of the 60’s over this. This is the coldest it’s been in five years! Yikes…whatever were we thinking when we cancelled out this month in Florida! Oh well, lesson well learned. I’m thankful we have a warm home, food to eat, and each other. There are lots of people in this freezing weather that have none of these things.
I started my ladies class on “Daniel” today and I think it’s going to be an excellent study. It’s certainly speaking to today’s culture of being “self absorbed” like the people of Babylon. I hope to buy the CD to listen to each DVD lesson while in Florida, if I can find one, in order to keep up with each week’s class. Otherwise, I’ll do the workbook as part of my daily devotional time and then listen to the DVD once I get home. I sure don’t want to miss any of it.
We enjoyed our short visit with Melissa and the children yesterday…didn’t see Byron since he was at work…and my special friend Margaret Jenkins and her daughter Elaine. Margaret fell several weeks ago and broke her pelvis and is currently home bound. She said she’s feeling better and feels she’s healing OK. She’s fallen a lot of times the last few years but this is the worse of her injuries. We’re thankful Elaine lives with her and is her private duty nurse…she’s an RN so she is qualified.Â
Each of the Gabehart kids are getting so big and are all doing well in school. Report cards come out next week so we’ll know how good they really are doing. Kyle is busy with baseball training, Ryan busy with wrestling, Tyler is busy with basketball, and Madi is busy with gymnastics, and Melissa is busy trying to keep up with each of them along with her job. Makes me tired just thinking about it! Byron helps cart the kids around when he can but he’s not always home from work before the kids have to be at the different events. I remember those days with fond memories so I know they, too, will all survive.
Guess I need to go and attempt to make a somewhat delicious dinner for my sweet husband. He’s not hard to please and will eat whatever I prepare. He’s a good man!
Enjoy your evening.
Blessings……
