Here it is Wednesday and I haven’t been to the beach yet! Bummer. It’s been quite cool and very windy so it’s just to cold to venture out there. I’ve tried sitting by the pool the last two days but it seems futile when you have to wear a coat! Tomorrow is suppose to be the coldest one…freeze warnings out for tonight…so far this winter. Friday there’s hope for warmer and by next week we’re in the high 70’s and low 80’s…bring ‘er on, I’m more than ready!
Ryan called me today…Wednesday…and he was so pumped! Someone dropped out of the state wrestling tournament and since he was an alternate he’ll now get to participate. We wish him well and know he’ll do his best. This is quite an honor with this being his first year. The tournament is this coming weekend so he only has a few day to really be ready. Be tough, Ryan, and stay off your back!
I also heard from Meredith while they were at the doctor’s office today…Jerod broke is ring finger playing basketball and since the break is at the joint where the growth comes from, it will be put in a cast. He’s wearing a splint for now until the swelling goes down, and he’ll get the cast next week. Thankfully, Blake’s hand has healed and he got out of his soft cast a little over a week ago. Life is never dull when you’re raising boys! This has put a damper on the remainder of this basketball season, but maybe he can play once the hard cast is on. Several kids had cast on their arms at the last game we went to, so here’s hoping he’ll get to finish the season. He’s a good ball player and loves playing.
Meredith was also very distraught that they were having more snow days…she said they will be in school until the 7th of June unless they get even more snow days, then it will be even later. She’s afraid they won’t have much summer vacation time since school starts back the middle of August. Let’s hope they forgive some of these snow / ice days and they won’t have to go so long when it’s hot.
We were sorry to hear that our friend, Eugene Hornback, died Monday night. He hasn’t been in good health for some time and was bemoaning the fact that his two best friends…Chester Jenkins and Gilbert Dadisman…had died and why was he still around. These three men were the elders at OCC for many years and they will all be missed.
No news…getting ready to watch American Idol so guess I’ll stop for now. Hopefully, Idol will drop some of the “fluffy” and spend more time on the contestants so we can see who really has talent. Enjoy your evening…Stay warm!
Blessings……..
