George and I walked the 5K Zoo walk this morning, along with thousands of other people, and really enjoyed it. It was a beautiful morning and George and I both did well with our time…he ran and I walked. Didn’t get to see many of the animals since I was wizzing along at such a rapid pace and I was just trying to breathe and maintain an upright positiion. Walking on the treadmill seems to be a lot easier…only hills should I chose to have them which is seldom.  It really wasn’t a hard walk until we got to that LONG hill around the gorilla cages and that was a struggle. I walked the 3.2 miles in 46 minutes so that’s a little over a 15 minute mile…not bad for someone my age and for the shape I’m in! Of course, George was finished long before me, already had his snack, and was cooling off!Â
Once we got back home, we got cleaned up and headed for Lexington to see all three of the Crockett boys play ball. Of course, they are all on different teams so we were there for several hours. After the games we headed to a Greek restaurant for a late lunch/early dinner. I haven’t eaten much of that type of food before and didn’t really know how to order…Daniel helped and it was really good. Can’t tell you what I had, but it was tasty! Then onto the ice cream place and that was really yummy. I haven’t had anything that good or sweet in months, if not years! We enjoyed our time with all of them and feel so blessed to have such wonderful kids and grandkids. Clark is having all of us over for lunch tomorrow so that will be another fun day.
Clark and Daniel both had a good first week on their new jobs. Lots to learn but they both feel they have made a good choice by going to their new places of employment. We are thankful they feel this way because it’d be awful if they felt they had made a bad choice after the first week.
I’m a very blessed Mother and Mimi and will enjoy tomorrow being with the ones I can and talking to the ones not here. Hope all you Mother’s out there will have a very special day tomorrow!
Blessings….
