What a fun weekend we had here in Wilmore. Melissa came in with Tyler and Madi…Byron had Ryan and Kyle out turkey hunting…and it was a good time. Meredith and Madi play together very well while the boys enjoy doing boy things…a little too competitive at times, however. Tyler got “beamed” with a baseball while here and has a really sore right arm that should have a serious bruise on it by now. On Saturday night we actually had a friend of Meredith’s, Cassie, join us for a birthday party and “birthday” sleepover. Poor Melissa…three young girls and a dog shared her bedroom! Melissa was the one surprised about having a birthday party but since we were all together we thought it would be fun and would save us a trip into Louisville today. We wish Madi many more special birthdays and she is a joy to have around.
Winter has returned for this week and I’m not happy about it. It was beautiful yesterday and then the storm came rolling in while we were at our Life Group last night…strong winds, heavy rain, and much cooler temperatures. Oh well, it’s better than the ice storm that came this winter!
Blake has his left arm back in a sling. He fell on his elbow while playing basketball and chipped the bone at the growth plate so that makes for four fractures in four months for the Crockett’s…seems to be a pattern here! He will have his elbow re-x-rayed in two weeks to see what will need to be done from that point. He’s sure hoping it will be OK and not need a cast since baseball season is starting. He’s quite the athlete and sure doesn’t want to be benched with a broken elbow all season. Oh the joys of parenting!
Guess I need to chase some of the dust off the furniture and then get to my exercise walk. Have a very HAPPY 8TH BIRTHDAY MADI!!! Mimi loves you and I look forward to sharing many more birthdays with you and your family.
Blessings…….
