Madi’s Graduation

Today is Madi’s kindergarten graduation and it’s hard to believe that it was nine months ago we were putting her on the “BIG” yellow school bus for her first day.  She was so excited that first day, and still is once she’s awake each morning, and growing up far too fast.  She’s done well, for the most part, but a lot is expected from kindergarten kids now.  Like the first week of school they had spelling words…can’t read but they can spell.  She’s now reading, loves math, and is quite the social butterfly when she wants to be.  Madi is some what shy but overcoming that trait when she wants to.  With Melissa as her mother, and me as her Mimi, I’m sure it must be genetic!

I’m headed to the graduation celebration, George is in Harrodsburg on a field trip with Kyle (two hours from here and close to Tanya), Melissa is on a field trip with Tyler at the boy scout camp (about 30-45 minutes south  of here) so the end of school will be a blessing and, hopefully, a slower pace for all the Gabehart kids.  Of course, there’s always little league baseball in the evenings.  Tyler hit the winning ball for his team last night…and I didn’t go ’cause it’s so cool and I was doing things for tonight.  Bummer!!!

We’re having our Care Group for dinner tonight (16-18 people) and we’re going to grill out hamburgers.  Hope it will be good as it’s hard to mess up a hamburger and there will be several side dishes from others in the group.  We’re all decent cooks and we have eating down to a fine art!

Blessings….
