What a beautiful Mother’s day here in Wilmore. The sun was shining, the temperature was near perfect and I was able to talk with all my children. After church we, along with the Crockett’s, went to Jose’, one of our local restaurants, for his first Mother’s day brunch. The food was good and Jose was not only the cook, but the waiter, cashier, cleaner-upper…his usual helpers had finished school and were headed to wherever home was…so it was quite an experience. Jose’ is a good man and enjoyable to visit with. Another benefit of living in a very small town!
Even though it was Mother’s day a little league ballgame was scheduled for 3 p.m. We have had so much rain and needed to knock off one of the missed games…so it was off to the ball field. George helps with the team and Jerod and Blake are on it. It was another win for the Red Sox’s so that was good. I was even able to soak up a few sun rays…my Florida tan is fading really fast this year.
After the game, George and I headed for home because we were having a group of people over that MAY become another Life Group. Since it was such a beautiful day, we were able to be outside and grilled our hot dogs…really we had chili dogs and they were yummy if I say so myself…and then we set around our fire pit…Thanks Gabehart’s…and sang a few songs, visited with each other, watched the two children that were here jump on the trampoline before ending the evening with a prayer. Good neighbors and good friends are hard to beat!
This will be a busy week as we’ll be going to Memphis on Wednesday to see Scott and Alison, along with my class reunion on Saturday. We’ll come back home on Sunday afternoon. Also, George will be having a birthday on Thursday and we’ll be celebrating here on Tuesday with the Crockett’s and then again on Thursday with Scott and Alison. He should feel special with all that celebrating…oh ya, HE IS SPECIAL!!!!
Have a good week. Rain is again being predicted but let’s hope for a few sunny days before it shows up later this week.
Blessings……
