Here it is Saturday morning and the work bench is nearing completion…it’s far more fancy than the one George built for himself. Unfortunately we’ve…rather they…have hit a bump in the road. Scott sliced off half the fleshy part of his index finger on his left hand this morning with a jig saw. He’s currently on his way to the Urgent Care Center for a tetanus shot, better dressing, and a splint. The next door neighbor lady is a nurse practitioner and she came over to check out what could be done. NOTHING, really! The flesh is gone, it’s not bleeding any more, but it sure looks ragged.  He will heal from the inside out…it will take a while for this to be completed…, his finger is permanently indented, and it will be extremely sore. Poor Scott…he went into shock and thought he would pass out, get sick, and was sweating profusely. Let’s just hope the bench is done, whether it is or not he won’t be working on it anymore today, and he’ll be OK.
Later today will be my high school reunion and it will be interesting to see how we’ve all changed and if we can even remember one another. More on this later.
We’ll be heading back home tomorrow and hoping it won’t be raining all the way there. This area has gotten an over abundance of rain this spring and lots of fields are very flooded. Let’s just pray the rain will stay away even though the prediction for rain is 60% +.
We went to the Redbirds vs Las Vegas baseball teams last night and that was fun. The Redbirds didn’t do so well and lost the game 8-1 but it was a beautiful evening to be there and it was a great stadium. As we entered the stadium there was a band playing and they couldn’t have been over 14-15 years old. They were really good!!! Hopefully George will post the picture he took of them. The group had 3 boys playing different types of guitars and one drummer. Really, they were very good and very talented! OK Tyler, keep practicing and you’ll be on stage one day!
Guess I’d better get myself cleaned up for the day. Pray for Scott’s sore finger and that he’ll be a good patient and remain calm.
Blessings……..
