We had a great time in Iowa visiting Clark, Vanessa, Lacey, and Sean…Branden was working, along with moving to a new apartment, so he couldn’t join us. It’s 500 miles to their place from Wilmore so it’s a full days drive for us…that’s cause we like coffee and coffee makes us stop! Clark and George went fishing three times during our short visit and they caught quite a few. Sean went with them twice…fished once…and I went with them one time. They were on the Mississippi River when just the guys went and caught bigger fish…we went to a lake at a state park when I was along and they caught “baby” fish! Vanessa wasn’t able to go with us when I went as she was fighting a migraine headache. Thankfully she recovered and was doing better by night time.
We arrived home safe and sound last night and, as usual, it was good to be back home. We spent several hours with all the Gabehart’s as we wanted to see everyone, enjoyed some good taco’s fixed by Melissa, and then watch Ryan play ball…his team won against Fern Creek 7-6 so it was a good night! We left Burlington at 6:30 a.m. (CST) and finally got home at 10:15 p.m. (EST) so it was a long day. Illinois and Iowa are pretty states and almost as flat as Texas so we enjoyed the scenery.
Today I’ve gotten my walk in…thought I’d melt in this heat and humidity but I didn’t…and now I’m going to get off here and start the laundry. It’s a beautiful day and I feel so blessed to get to enjoy it. Look for the good in everything you do today! We are all blessed far more than we deserve.
My heart is still sad because of the death of my friend Bonnie, but I rejoice in the fact she’s now with our Lord and totally free of pain. She was a tremendous, selfless lady admired by all that knew her or knew of her.
Blessings…….
