We’ve had a great few days with Mom and Dad but it’s about time to head back to KY. We went to the country club for Sunday lunch and it was delicious, as usual. I seldom get a dessert but I just couldn’t pass up a small slice of their Maple Nut Pie. It was to die for! I’ll not eat any more dessert for months, but this was worth the calories and fat grams.Â
George did an excellent job teaching class this morning and certainly gave them all something to think about. Such as…what’d he say?…God is what?…that really stimulated my thinking. Maybe they understood his meaning…at least, I hope so.
Phyllis ate lunch with us today and we got to look at all her pictures all over again. She misses Charles so much and constantly reminds everyone just how wonderful he was and how wonderful we are for “getting him his job at ACU”. Wonder if she’ll ever understand that we had nothing to do with it and he got the job through his own qualification?
It’s warm today and looks like more rain is coming. Over all, we have had cool days and nights while here…not even using the air conditioner! That’s something for this time of the year!
We’re packing up and will head to Dallas by 3 a.m. in the morning. We are to be home a little before noon and look forward to seeing Clark for a little bit before he heads back to Iowa. This past week-end Sean left for Mississippi for some more training before he’s shipped out to Germany. Please pray for his safety and that his time serving our country will be a safe and enjoyable one. I believe he’s to be gone between 12-18 months. Also, Vanessa is scheduled to have her back surgery on June 1 and that will be a 5.5 hours operation. It’s a type of fusion and is quite involved and we’re praying for her to be completely pain free once the healing has taken place. I had the old type of fusion where they take bone from your hip and fuse it to the spine and I know it was a very difficult recovery period but maybe this new method will be an easier one.
Have a great week and I’ll be back blogging once I get back home. Still praying and making plans concerning New Orleans.
Blessings….
