We have had a great day today. We got up late for us…8 a.m…but I was expecting it to be even later since we had been out until nearly 1 a.m. watching the Moon Bow. That was quite a sight and I’m really glad we got to experience it. The moon bow is absent of color but you can definitely see the “bow”.
We had a very leisure morning with me staying in my p.j.’s until nearly 10 a.m. We had a nice breakfast and then we decided to do another trail hike. We got to see another beautiful waterfall…Eagle Fall…and this hike gave us a good workout…me especially. I’m so not use to doing stairs and there were many during this hike…only about 3 miles round trip hike but it seemed as though most of it was straight uphill! It started to rain just before we got back to the trail head but that didn’t matter since we were soaked with sweat by this time. Be sure you check George’s blog for pictures!
Once we got back from this hike we headed to the room so we could recover…George slept while I read. Once we recovered we cleaned up and headed to dinner…having missed lunch due to the late breakfast we were ready to eat. Tonight the lodge is having what they call a “Jam Fest” so they had fried catfish, beans & cornbread, soup & salad bar, several side dishes…one being fried okra – YUMMY…and blackberry cobbler with soft vanilla ice cream for dessert. Currently, a musical ditty is being set up and should start in about ten minutes. I guess we’re going to be “Jammin'” on this anniversary!
George and I have been blessed all these many years and I continue to thank God daily for sending George my way. We have not had a perfect marriage but we do have a strong marriage. We try to keep God as the center of all we do and that has been the key ingredient for our survival. George, I love you and may we be blessed with many more years together. Thank you for your patience, your faithfulness, and for your love for me, our children, grandchildren, and especially for our Lord and Savior.
Time to start “jammin'”. We go home tomorrow but our time here has been really good with many memories and pictures to prove it!
Blessings….
