We got back into Louisville around 12:15 p.m. and it’s good to be home. We are both quite tired…we only had a couple hours sleep last night…and we were up by 2:30 a.m. The rental car people said we needed to have the rental car back two hours before our flight time. We left mom and dad’s at 3:03 a.m. this morning arriving at the airport at 6:00…departure time was to be at 8:45…so we were early! In spite of what George said on his blog, it’s not a pride thing or an old age thing…it’s just what it is…early! The traffic was very light, the road construction was on holiday, and we love waiting, I guess. Our plane was late leaving Dallas because our original plane was having mechanical problems so we had to change gates and planes leaving Dallas thirty minutes behind schedule.
Clark and Vanessa picked us up at the airport and we all ate lunch together and he’s now on his way back to Iowa.Â
This will be another busy week but thankful we are able to keep up most of the time. Going on a river cruise with friends Tuesday evening, teaching class on Wednesday night, Vanessa has her back surgery Friday, two graduation parties on Saturday, and then we will head toward New Orleans Saturday afternoon…providing Vanessa is doing OK. We’re to be there for the week checking out what they want us to do as staff members and then head home the following Sunday. Vanessa will be staying here with us once we’re home, or I will be staying with her at her house, so we can help her through her recovering period. Keep her in your prayers, please.
Got to go do some chores before I collapse.
Blessings……
