We left home around noon on Saturday and headed to Louisville for several different events. First off we went to the OCC church building to hear Patrick Meade speak at the YIA youth rally. He did his usual good job but he’s much better…in my opinion only…when he’s speaking to adults and not kids. Regardless, he was worth the time. Secondly, we went to Chili’s to help surprise Emily H. and to celebrate her 30th birthday. She truly was surprised! We got to see several familiar faces, plus meet some new friends of theirs. We had a great meal, visit, and we are so glad we were able to share the afternoon with them. Sweet, sweet people! Thirdly, we headed back to OCC to watch Ryan…along with the other crew members…do some skits with the ACT I drama team. Ryan did an outstanding job! I never realized he could act and with such confidence! Way to go Ryan and all the rest of the team! Of course, we got to see many friends from the past and it’s always good to be able to touch base with them even if it’s only briefly. All the Gabehart kids were there so I got some much needed Mimi hugs and kisses. They are all really sweet kids and are growing up far too fast. We got back home by 10 p.m. so it was a full day but after a good nights rest we were ready to go again.
Sunday was a good worship time and that’s always a good thing. After church, we ate lunch with the Crockett’s then Tanya, Meredith and I headed out to do some shopping. Tanya was still gathering up more school supplies while taking back a few to many previously bought. We hit Target, Macy’s, Verizon…Tanya’s new phone died and she lost all her stuff on it which is a BIG bummer…and, of course, Wal-Mart before we called it quits. The old saying is true…”Your day isn’t complete until you’ve visited Wal-Mart”…and we were glad it was finally completed. It was a very HOT day…in the 90’s…so it was good to get back home and cool off.
I shelled about two pounds of purple hull peas yesterday while George watch Tiger lose in the gold tournament. Wonder how long my fingers and thumbs will have this purple tinge? It’s worth the purple tinge when we get to eat those delicious peas!
Today is my day to do several “Susie Homemaker” chores and pack for our trip to Burlington tomorrow. George is finishing up the rabbit hutch for Meredith and it’s really cute. She can’t wait to get it finished and buy her bunny. So thankful it’s them and not us! I love animals…I just don’t want any around here full time.
My sweater is just about completed and I think I’m going to enjoy wearing it this winter. I’ll have George post a photo of it on his blog a little later. I plan to make another one before much longer since I really do enjoy knitting! It is an art form so I guess I’m an artist! JOKE!!!
Got to get back to work. Have a great week and we’ll be having lots of fun with Clark, Vanessa, and Lacey. Hope the fish will be biting! Pray for our safety while we once again travel.
Blessings……….
