We arrived safely. have our nest all settled, and we’re biting at the bit to get started. We’ve met several staff members, will met the entire crew at dinner tonight and then the volunteers in the morning. To say it’s hot and humid in New Orleans is putting it mild! It’s OK in the shade and if you’re not moving…after that it’s hot, sticky, and like a sauna.
Our trip down was a good one. We got to see Carter, Lori, and Chance as we went through Nashville and they are all doing well. It was a treat getting to see Chance since we didn’t know he was there when we called Carter.  It was really good seeing them…been almost a year since we’ve seen Chance and several months since we’ve seen Carter and Lori. Â
We went on to Alabama after we said our good-byes…about 1 1/2 hours from Nashville…got a room for the night in Athens, then we drove over to Rogersville to see George’s aunt Imogene, Jerry, and Kelsey. Kelsey graduated from high school on Friday night…she’s still on cloud nine especially with this new boyfriend of hers.
Imogene will probably have surgery on her shoulder, the one she broke when she fell, before long and they are trying to determine if she has a hair-line fracture in one of her hips. She must have fallen really hard but then again, her bones are weak and she’s 81 years old. She’s pretty discouraged but it’s getting to the one year anniversary of Uncle Bill’s death, so that weighing on her heart also.l
I will try and post here each day and will try to remember to specify which day it is for Mom and Dad…they don’t get on each day and get confused of which day I’m referring too. So, I will try and do better. By the way, Vanessa is doing well and is to go home tomorrow.Â
It’s almost time for our dinner gathering. I will post as I’m able and hope to keep you informed of what’s going on in New Orleans.
Blessings…..
We arrived here around 3:30 and it was really quiet because most staff members were out or resting. We ask for your prayers for us this week and will
