Taking a Break!!!

This has been a most interesting day so far.  We started out with breakfast at 6:30 a.m. then we had a devotional period, orientation time, and now the day really can began…it’s 9 a.m.  Two ladies from Tennessee, four girls from their youth group, and myself have been cleaning up the kitchen, dining hall, two pantries, walk in refrigerator, and we have thrown away tons of outdated stuff and just plain trash.  I saw some truly Texas size cockroaches that scared me when they jumped out of the box I needed to empty.  It’s looking a lot better in there but there is still a lot to be done to get it completed.  I hate this type of work at home, but here with all the helpers, it’s not so bad.

We have had really heavy rain most of the day and George got soaked to the bone when he was out this morning…he didn’t melt so all is well!

I need to get back to my team and see what I can do for the next few hours…our day ends at 4 – 4:30 p.m.   Dinner is at 5:30 and then our day is complete until 8 p.m. for the evening devotional.  It’s 3 p.m. now so I don’t have to drag my feet much longer before it’s time to clean up.  Age is certainly a factor when doing this type of work!

There are three groups here at this location and one of them has several from Southern Hills C of C in Abilene but I haven’t had the opportunity to meet any of them.  We don’t work together…we just share the same facility to work out of.

Got to run.  Vanessa is home and doing well according the her nurse…Lacey!  Thanks for your prayers and keep them up for her complete recovery and our time her in New Orleans.

Blessings….
