Labor Day has come and gone but I want you all to know that we had a good time getting to know some of our neighbors yesterday at our backyard cookout. The rain stopped…thankfully…about 2 p.m. so we had one hour to get everything set up for our “get to know your neighbor” picnic. I really didn’t know just how many would show up since the weather was so iffy, but we had 30 to show up and 30 were invited…two of these were guest of someone invited. Everyone said they really enjoyed the opportunity of getting to know one another and would like to do this again at some future date. Wonder who will host it next time? Our backyard was a perfect place so who knows, we just might do this again next spring. Once the rain stopped, the sun came out and it was a beautiful day. We grilled four different types of hot dogs/brauts and everyone else brought either a dessert or some sort of side dish. We had lots of good food, fellowship, and some even played the game of Corn Hole or jumped on the trampoline. Needless to say, once it was over and the mess was all cleaned up I was exhausted. It truly was a good day and God has again blessed my life by giving me a neighborhood full of Christian people. Thank you, thank you!!!
Grayson is still recovering and will probably be able to go back to school tomorrow or Thursday. He’s really ready to feel good again and doesn’t like feeling like he does. Having your tonsils out is no easy thing…a good 10-14 days of recovery.
Not much of interest going on right now so guess I’ll get back to my knitting. Have a good rest-of-the-week and enjoy these beautiful days. I’ll be starting back to ladies class this Thursday and I’m looking forward to a study about John. Should be a good one. I’ll be back on here when I have something of interest to say.
Blessings……..
