Wednesday morning….

Well, here it is Wednesday morning and we’re still trying to get out of town and head towards Texas.  Hopefully, we will have the new glasses and be on our way by mid-afternoon.  Otherwise, it will be tomorrow.  We’re packed and ready to go but we really do need those new glasses since someone went to bed with theirs on and got up with them totally broken.  Wonder just who that could be?  I’ll let you guess.

It’s absolutely beautiful here in Kentucky and fall is definitely in the air.  The nights are cool enough that you’ll need a light jacket if you’re out for very long and we haven’t used the AC in weeks.  We’re had an unusually cool summer and I’m hoping for an unusually warm winter!

I’m sure by now most of you that read this blog have heard that Scott and Allison are expecting twin boys in February.  I think they were a little surprised and I can say for certain we were very surprised but we are looking forward to having two more grandsons.  We will have 15 grand kids in all…3 girls and 12 boys.  Now that’s a bunch and we feel so very blessed!

Here’s my most recent news…I have been diagnosed with the Celiac disease and I am having to learn how to eat without a trace of gluten.  There goes all my yummy pasta and bread but I have found a substitute for the pasta that was quite tasty…still looking for a bread that edible.  Of course, I’ve always loved vegetables and fruit and I can have all of those I want…even meats as long as there are no fillers in them.  It’s just the flour, wheat, rye, barley, and malt that have to be eliminated.  I’ll finally be healthy, that’s for sure, at least from the standpoint of diet.  Blake’s teacher is also on this diet and has been very helpful along with Tanya’s friend Dereca.  I do feel better physically, emotionally, and mentally now that my stomach is doing a lot better…so it’s worth the diet.  It has been a little…OK a lot..overwhelming and I sure had a hopeless feeling…even a pity party one day…but I’m much better now and it’s just the way it is and I will deal with it and accept it graciously.  There are a lot worse things I could have been diagnosed with!!!

Pray for our safe travels…once we FINALLY get to leave home.  I will post while we’re gone and we’re looking forward to our time with the folks…some good 42 games are being predicted in the very near future.  Be prepared, Dad!  We’re out to win!!!

We plan to see not only the folks but Lorin, Patsy, Victoria, Jerre, Rita, Scott, Allison, and others should we attend any of the lectures while we’re in Abilene.  Should be a good time!!!

Blessings……..
