We got back home yesterday (Friday the 25th) and it is good to be home. We had a good time while in Abilene and enjoyed our time with the folks, Lorin, Patsy, Victoria, Jerre, and Rita. Like I’ve said previously, Mom and Dad are doing well even though they do endure a few bumps each day but for their age they are OK. Mother continues to struggle with her back which is causing severe pain in her hip and leg. The sad part is, there is nothing that can be done to help her because of her heart and her age. She doesn’t complain but you can tell how much pain she’s in when she gets up out of a chair or walks. Love you Mom and I’m sorry you have to live with this pain! Dad continues to enjoy playing golf several days each week. I’m so thankful they are able to do most everything they want to do…it’s just with pain for mom…but they are doing great for their age and mom is still a great cook!
George got to take in several sessions at the ACU Summit…I stayed home with mother since our time together is so limited. I did hear Marcus Brecheen once and he was very good…we also got to visit with him afterwards and that was very good. Another good friend, Chris Smith, was the final speaker on Wednesday night and he, too, was good. George will have to tell you on his blog about all he heard, etc. The Summit use to be called the Lectureship at ACU and was held in February. Now they are in September and the weather was as crazy as usual…went from 93 one day to the 40’s the very next night but there was no snow or real cold which would always take place in February. Now that we’re home, I’m beginning to think we may need to build an ark! It has rained almost 3 inches since last night and it’s still coming down…lots of flooding in central KY right now. Crazy weather this year!
Guess I’d better get going and see what I can accomplish today. With the dreary weather, I may just curl up and enjoy reading my book I brought home from Mother’s stack of books. Have a great day of worship tomorrow!
Blessings……….
