We had a great day today and we all have evidence of having been on the beach a little too long. The day was warm, with a nice breeze, and LOTS of sunshine but the predicted rain never showed up…and for that we are thankful. Some of us went up to the Shrimp Fest this afternoon which is sort of like the stuff you’d find at the fair. It had been going on all weekend and was suppose to be a great event…it’s not something I would want to have a repeat visit on. There were lots of people, every kind of ways to prepare shrimp…along with a lot of other sea items…and many crafty items that had absolutely no appeal to me. We didn’t stay long and we were sweating bullets by the time we got out of there. Of course, we went during the hottest possible time of the day so we shouldn’t complain or be surprised at how hot it was. Oh well, we can now say we have been to the Shrimp Fest and, I guess, we’ll have to lie to everyone that ask about what’s it like. It’s advertised as a great experience and all I can say is that it was an experience!
There were several fish caught today along with a couple of sting rays and crabs. The way this house sits you can fish in the bay right off the back deck. That’s a lot of fun and so very convenient…you get hot, need a drink, etc. you just walk inside. This house we’re renting is a very nice place and plenty adequate for us. Carter and Lori even came by for awhile today and that was good. I think the guys are planning a fishing day and I don’t yet know what the girls are planning but I hope it will be something big.
We’re looking forward to all the week will bring and it really is good being with three of our five kids…just wish all five were here but we’d need a much bigger house!
