We invited a couple of interns to go to dinner with us tonight and they picked Acme Oyster House. George and I split a dinner that was half shrimp and half oysters. Guess which ones I ate? Your right … the shrimp. We also had a cup of gumbo each and it was very good. It was a great evening and we thoroughly enjoyed being with Emily and Zach. After dinner we went for dessert…ran into a group from Tennessee that’s been working here all week plus some other staff people…and then we walked over to the Mississippi River. It’s windy but very pleasant outside tonight, so this too was very enjoyable.  Emily is a chemist from somewhere up north and Zach is a weatherman from upstate New York. They both will be leaving this work in the fall and are currently making applications for future employment. They will do well as both are quite smart and have a strong desire to tell others about Jesus. Wherever they go will be a mission field for them.
Tomorrow is the last work day and then we will be finished with our work here. We have an anniversary date Saturday morning, going to the Brennan House for breakfast to celebrate our 45th anniversary which is tomorrow (Friday), and then not sure what we will be doing.Â
We looked around a little today for a rental, should we come back here for a longer stay…maybe 3-6 months. Everything is really expensive because there is such a demand for rental apartments, etc. I have no idea how all of this is going to work out but I’m trusting it will.
Continue to pray that we will heed God’s calling and that we’re not just doing something we think he is wanting us to do with the rest of our life. I know that we trust God and we are praying daily for wisdom. This certainly isn’t any place I want to live long term but I can manage a short stay.
Blessings…..
