George and I got to Louisville by 6:45 a.m. this Wednesday morning so we could be with Tyler before he had his surgery at 8:15 a.m….Tyler was this doctor’s fifth patient that morning so he got a very early start. The doctor said Tyler’s tonsils really needed to come out because when he pulled them out (or whatever he did to remove them) a mass of “green cottage cheese” substance came pouring out…infection, I guess. He, the doctor, said it was rather gross!!! Tyler is doing quite well and is resting comfortably for now. Of course, he’s having the usual sore throat complaint and another small issue with drainage. The next couple of days will be the worse, and after just a couple of weeks he should be back to doing all the things he likes to do…wrestle, play the piano and his guitar, and just be a normal nine year old boy. George and I will be here until Friday night or Saturday morning. We came to help Melissa juggle her busy schedule, be with Tyler, and we even worked in our “yearly” dental appointment…suppose to be bi-annual appointment but we missed the one in June. It’s good to be retired and able to help when needed.
It’s rather cool again today but the rain has stopped for now…sure makes us look forward to going back to Florida in just 37 days…yes I’m ready for warmer weather already and winter hasn’t even started yet. We continue to do well and I’m still adjusting to the gluten free lifestyle. It’s really not that bad but I still have a tiny pity party at times when I see others enjoying something I use to really enjoy. Oh well, such is life…at least I’m not terminal.
Enjoy the remainder of this week!
Blessings……
