We had a safe and uneventful ride home from Alabama today…arriving home around 2 p.m. (EST), and it was good being with George’s relatives for the holiday.  It was a beautiful day in Rogersville yesterday with lots of sunshine, although there was a really crisp breeze, so some in the group got out and rode Jerry’s horse around the farm for a while. Jerry built a big bon-fire that we all enjoyed once it got dark…around 5 p.m. or maybe even earlier. The meal was enjoyed by everyone and I managed to eat gluten free…only ate what I brought along with some ham…so we all were very contented by bedtime.
We saw a LOT of deer that had been struck by vehicles while trying to cross the interstate both going to and coming from Alabama…one even had a big rack…but we only saw one that made it across. That’s why I really don’t like to travel at night this time of the year since the deer are moving around a lot and they can sure do some damage to a vehicle. They really are beautiful out in the fields!
Have a good weekend and hope everyone survived “Black Friday”. I have no desire to go to the malls on this day…I’m too old to fight for a parking spot, wait in lines for hours, or snatch up a bargain!
Blessings………..
