The last couple of days have been filled with emotions and delight. Chase has completed his college career and graduated last night from Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, KY. He was thrilled to be out and more than thankful to get all the graduation stuff over with. As a grandparent, it doesn’t seem possible that he’s old enough to be a college grad…our first grandchild to have accomplished this…and he is now ready to find a career as a police officer. I wish for him a great career that will be both fulfilling and SAFE. Love ya Chase!
Because of the graduation, we were able to spend some time with Carter and Lori and that was a blessing. They spent the night with us last night and should be back in Birmingham tonight after spending time with Chase and Chance today. We were able to visit with both the boys briefly after the graduation before they headed out to celebrate with friends. They are both very good looking young men and staying busy with friends.
Kyle and Ryan wrestled today and both went 1 – 3. This was Kyle’s first match and the win he had was by a pin in the first round…his loses were both in the second round. Ryan won his on points and not sure what round his loses were in. Both are doing well and we hope we’ll get to attend at least one match before the season is over. Tyler is still recovering from the tonsillectomy and will be back at it after Christmas.
Poor sweet Madi has been diagnosed with a case of shingles . They broke out on the top of her head, of all places, on Thursday and has caused her some real pain. Hopefully, she’ll be back to school on Monday and well on her way to feeling 100% again.
We are currently in Memphis visiting Scott and Allison…got here this evening. We came so I could attend Allison’s first baby shower and to bring them the cradle George made for the twins. Allison said she loves it! YEAH!!! George and Scott had to take the bedroom door off in order to get the cradle into the room because of the rockers…it’s the size of a port-a-crib (24×38 inches) but the rockers make the width a little to wide for the modern door frames. I guess the doors in our OLD house are wider since there was no problem getting it out of the bedroom it had been stored in. George has photos of the cradle on his blog if you want to check it out.
We’ll head back home on Monday morning early, as this will be a busy week. We have a party to attend on Wednesday night and another one in Louisville on Friday night. I’ll also be seeing my Celiac doctor on Wednesday morning, get a hair trim on Wednesday afternoon, and somewhere in the week start getting our things together for our five weeks in Florida. Of course, the usual day to day chores will have to be done along with make the Christmas goodies for all the neighbors.
No more news. I’ll write later about the baby shower and know what an exciting time this is for them. I can’t even imagine raising twins but they will do fine…at least, I’m praying they will. It will be hard but they will survive with God’s help and more patience than they ever thought possible.
Have a great time of worship tomorrow and hope you’re being good ’cause the big guy in the red suit is still watching.
Blessings……..
