We got home this morning around 10 a.m. and I hit the door running. I’ve gotten everything unpacked, washed, put away, did some BeautiControl business, was suppose to go to a BeautiControl meeting but decided against it, and now I’m taking a minute or two to let everyone know that we feel our week in New Orleans was successful and we are glad we went.Â
We both worked hard at our designated jobs, SWEAT a lot, and made comments that we hate doing all that type work at home but it’s not so bad when we did it with those working along side of us. I did find it to be quite a joy to see so many other believers working as hard, or harder, than we did simple because they want to serve Jesus by serving others. There is still a lot of work to be done there and the people are receptive to hearing about why we do what we do. Doors are being opened and that’s what mission work is all about…and New Orleans is definitely a mission field.
It is good to be back home and talk with friends and family. I’ve yet to see any family but hopefully I will tomorrow. I’m taking Vanessa and Lacey a meal tomorrow so I’ll spend some time with them. She’s still improving and doing well considering it’s only been eleven days since she had surgery. Healing is a slow process and we always want to hurry it up.
Our travel home was LONG but we did got to see Jerry Page…George’s cousin…his daughter Kelsey, his aunt Imogene, Carter, and Lori. In fact, after we left Athens, AL. we drove to Nashville and spent the night in Carter’s apartment since he was going to be in Birmingham…thought I’d die before we finally made it. We had been in the car way too long…about 11 hours…so I was thrilled when we finally got there. That saved us about $100…Thanks Carter! It was a tiring trip for old folks but we were kept safe and George behaved for the most part!
Thanks again for your concern, prayers, and love for us as we continue on our journey of serving others.
Blessings…..
