Today is Tuesday

This has been a good day and we even got some much needed rain.  Thank you Lord!

I began my day in a not-so-good way…I went out on our screened porch first thing this morning to drink my coffee and read my Bible.  I was OK until I rounded that first corner…stubbing my toes on one of the end tables in a most painful way…didn’t spill a drop of my coffee thankfully…and in the process of rounding that corner I broke yet another toe on my right foot.  I knew at that moment that things would be looking up from there!

Jerod and I did go to the zoo as planned…I hobbled around the entire zoo and I now had blisters on both of my feet…but we really did have a wonderful time.  I wasn’t sure we’d be able to stay once we got there since it was raining lightly as we were driving over there and it appeared that more rain was on the way.  We saw all of the zoo, ate a little lunch, Jerod got “goosed” by some geese, and then onto the Water Splash.  He played there for about 50 minutes before I suggested we might want to head for home…the storm clouds were again forming and it was becoming quite humid.  We made it home and then the rain came and we were so thankful.  We are having a drought in KY. so we’ll take any and all rain we can get for now.

We had a spaghetti supper per request of Jerod and then headed over to the ball park to watch Tyler’s team play.  They are in their championship round and Tyler’s team beat the other team royally!  So more games are coming for both Tyler and Ryan.  Kyle is out for the season after hurting his foot yesterday at the swimming pool…he’s on crutches for this week!  At least I can still walk…a little funny but I’m moving on my own!  His injury is a “sprained foot” from jumping into the pool in the shallow end and some how twisting his foot  Yesterday he thought crutches would be fun…today he’s having second thoughts because of how sore his arms and shoulders are.  Oh well, he’ll survive and this will be a funny story someday.  Hope Melissa survives the summer!

Jerod is spending the night with Kyle tonight and will go back home in the morning…he has his swim meet tomorrow evening.  Kids are sure busy these days…as are their parents!  We have loved having Jerod with us these few days and it’s so different when you can have a one-on-one with a grandchild.  You actually get to have a conversation!

Blessings…..
