Back to the zoo

Here it is already Thursday and I’ve done nothing towards getting anything done around here this week except play with grandkids…I LOVE MY JOB!!!  Jerod was delivered back to his mother and siblings yesterday and he was glad to see all of them, as they were to see him.  We enjoyed the three days we had him with us but we can’t compete with brothers and  a sister…our house is rather quiet and dull as compared to their home.

Today Madi and I went to the zoo and it was really HOT…90 + degrees but the humidity wasn’t too high so we survived.  We enjoyed our “girls day” and she was a pleasure to spend the day with.  However, she’s a little more into the many gift shops throughout the zoo than she was the animals.  She bought a small stuffed animal with the $3 her mother gave her, plus a couple more from her Mimi, so she felt she had a good day.  She was quite excited about the new Water Splash area and lasted all of ten minutes before she said she was done and ready to go home…Jerod played there for 50 + minutes and then I said it was time to go.  Oh well, I was ready to get home and out of the heat so we headed to the car.  She spent the remainder of the day with us and then helped me get dinner on the table before we headed to the ball park to watch Ryan’s team play for their tournament championship.  They came up a few runs short so they won their league but not the tournament championship…second place is not what they wanted but it’s not a bad spot either.  Many teams never came close to accomplishing this!  Kyle’s team plays for their tournament championship tomorrow night and then Tyler plays for his on Saturday morning.  They were fortunate to all be on winning teams this year but this will end the season and that’s a good thing!  We’re all ready to do something else.

It’s just two weeks until we head to Florida and we’re looking forward to spending time together.  It will be hot there but we’ll have fun playing in the water, etc.

Sunday is our yearly worship in the park and then a big pot luck dinner afterwards.  This is not my most favorite thing to do but I can live with it.  Last year we dodged rain all day and that’s being predicted again this year.  We need rain so badly that I’ll continue to pray for it and we can just meet at the building as usual.

We will be putting our house on the market this next week and Melissa is going to be the realtor.  Her last home she listed was sold within ten hours and she had the signed contract in her hands at that time.  I want this house to sell but maybe not that fast since we really haven’t gotten somewhere to move into.  There’s lots of places to rent and that may be what we’ll do for a while.  We’re still waiting, and praying, about doing more work in New Orleans.  We still don’t have all of our paper work together and turned in so they may think we have decided to abort working there.  Getting all the references back in has been a pain!

I’m going to lunch with my friend Dianne tomorrow so that’s another day of play and no work.  Did I tell you…I LOVE MY JOB!!!  There are some benefits to the saying … All work and no play… I’ve connected to the play part and I’m liking it!  But I’ve got George painting and it’s probably best I not be here as his assistant.  Some things are just not meant to be shared…painting a room together surely is one of them!  I will get back to work next week and getting us ready for Florida will keep me busy.

Enjoy your weekend and spend time looking for God in whatever you’re doing.

Blessings……
