Maybe today…

We have just 16 days left to enjoy some warm days along with lots of sunshine and it’s just not happening.  Today it’s going to be in the upper 60’s with cloudy skies so there’s a slight hope of soaking in some rays.  So far we have enjoyed sitting on the beach once, walked it once, and viewed it from a vehicle three times…not really warm at any of these times.  I have gone over to the pool the last couple of days…let me remind you that I was the only one there…to TRY and enjoy the sun.  If the wind would stop blowing, the sun could feel good.  This has been the strangest weather we’ve ever experienced in all the years we’ve been coming down here.  Many crops have been ruined, the tropical fish have not survived, and the once green grass is now brown.  This area just isn’t suppose to have 12 + days of waking up to frost on the ground.  Oh well, some warm days and a lot of this will come back around…and we’ll be back home.

I have gotten back into my  walking…3.5 – 4 miles.. most days and that’s been good.  I start out being cold with a jacket on but ending up hot with my jacket tied around my waist!  I guess that’s the secret to staying warm…getting off the sofa and moving quickly!

We have eaten out only three times since we’ve been down here…the day we went to Naples along with both Sunday’s…so I’ve managed my diet quite well.  Both the Sunday lunches were at restaurants that have Gluten Free menus which makes me feel a little more confident about eating there.  Of course, the tiny print at the bottom of the menu stating that they can’t be responsible for any cross contamination will put doubt in ones mind!  I’ve had a couple of issues since we’ve been here but it came from what I ate at the house.  That cross contamination is so tricky and I’m never sure just where it came from.

Before this week is over, we will go see the movie “Blind Side” and I’m expecting it to be a good one.  I enjoyed the book and l hope that the movie will equal it.

George talked with Tanya last night and she said that Blake has double pneumonia.  Therefore, Blake you get better soon and we’re praying for you to be back to normal quickly.   All the other Crockett’s are doing well, as are the other family members as far as I know.  Clark leaves for Italy on Monday for two weeks…work related…and he’s excited about that.  I hope he’ll have some time for sight seeing while there. The twins are doing well and both are almost five pounds and will be here very soon.  Dad continues to improve and is doing his physical therapy three times each week which is making him feel stronger and TIRED when he leaves for home.

All the news and comments coming out about Haiti are so devastating and my heart goes out to the people there.  So many of them had so little before the earthquake and now they have absolutely nothing.  The faces of the children that are hurt, scared, and all alone are just heart breaking.  Pray for them and for all the ones that are trying to help them.

American Idol has gotten off to a good start and the “General” on there last night was the best so far with his original song…“Pants on the ground”.  He did what an entertainer should do…he entertained the people and brought a smile to everyone’s face.  He was to old (62) to qualify to be an Idol but he sure did entertain!

Guess it’s that time…get off the sofa and move.  Stay warm, healthy, and on your knees praying for the thousands that are in such great need of the bare essentials to remain alive…clean water and food.

Blessings……..
