The last three days have been so beautiful here with lots of sunshine along with a gentle breeze. Just near perfect!!! We’re…that’s Jean and I…are actually getting some sun tan lines…I know it’s bad for your skin but it sure makes one look healthy. Once I get back home that will end all the “soaking up the rays” for this year. The guys are going to go fishing tomorrow and Jean and I will go to the beach for a few hours. Another busy day in Venice!
Today as I was getting ready to go to the pool I noticed the neighborhood alligator was swimming across the pond towards our lawn…we’ve seen him out there when we first got here. He stayed in the water for quite a while so I went on over to the pool. Well, when he finally crawled out he had a hugh fish in his mouth that he proceeded to eat…I could see him slinging something around but didn’t know just what it was so, I called George and ask if he was watching him from the Lani and he said yes. George had taken several pictures of the noon time feast the alligator was enjoying…see George’s blog for photo’s. He’s really quite big and not something you’d want to get very close to. Of course, George tried to pretend he was “Crocodile Dundee” and get a close up picture…no longer from the Lani but from the lawn…but the alligator wasn’t interested in being photographed up close and jumped back in the water. We haven’t seen him since. Jean and I were watching all this from the pool and I’m thankful the alligator was full and didn’t want to be bothered by George as his dessert!
We enjoyed a good dinner at the Crow’s Nest with Ron and Jean tonight and we’re now just waiting for “IDOL” to come on so we can be entertained for the next couple of hours. There’s talent and then there’s those that think they have talent so I do enjoy watching each week.
Blake is over his pneumonia and Madi is going back to school tomorrow now that her strep throat is all cleared up…she had a really rough weekend but two shots of penicillin made her all better. Clark made it to Rome, Italy safely and got to do a little sight seeing today even though he was dead tired from the long trip…it had been over 30 hours since he’d been to bed. Hope he gets some rest tonight and enjoys his two weeks there. Of course, he’ll be working but they have factored in some fun time. All others are OK as far as I know.
Time for Idol so I’ll chat again soon. Don’t forget to pray for our friend Patty, my parents, and all the ones in Haiti.
Blessings……
