The sun is shining bright and the wind is blowing strong, so it’s another beautiful day in the neighborhood. We had a good worship this morning and, of course, George did a good job with the adult class…the topic being sanctification…and many have said they wish he could continue. But we’ll be leaving here next Sunday morning for home. After services, we went to lunch with Ron and Jean to PeiWei’s and it was quite tasty. Of course, the entrees with all the gluten that was being eaten by Ron, Jean, and George sure looked better than my gluten free chicken wraps…at least they had a small gluten free menu and I’m thankful for that and I’d definitely go again.
We’re watching the playoff games again this afternoon…let me rephrase that, I’m watching while George is sleeping…and we’re sure hoping the Colts win against the Jets, and then the Saints win against the Vikings. Next week is the Super Bowl and then that’s all the football for a few months.  The seasons overlap so much now that most sports are almost being played year ’round. So far the Jets are looking good and the Colts are struggling to get on top. Oh well, they’ll be stronger the second half…at least I hope they will be.
We learned today that Tyler wrestled with his team in Cincinnati this morning and he came in second in his weight class. That’s quite an accomplishment since this was the second time he had ever wrestled. His first match today was a win because the other guy never showed up. On the second match, the guy told Tyler he was going to push his head in the mat. Well, 10 seconds into the first round, Tyler pinned the mouthy kid and that was that…don’t guess he had much to say after that. Hope that will teach him that “trash talkin'” will have you eating those words before the day is over. Tyler wrestled a third time, I think, and didn’t win that one. Regardless, a second place metal is nothing to be ashamed of and he’ll do even better as he learns more about the sport. The other two boys didn’t fare as well yesterday, but they both did their best and that’s all you can ask of them. Madi is doing well and finally got over her terrible strep throat after two shots of penicillin.
Yesterday was a big day for the Crockett kids, also. Grayson, Blake, and Meredith played basketball…Grayson’s team tied, Blake was the “star” on his team by getting almost ALL the baskets, and Meredith team won by a large margin. Jerod was in another academic tournament for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades…the district middle school academic competition. Jerod came in first over all in the language arts testing competition, 5th in social studies, and was a participant on the quick recall team which placed FIRST. Jerod was competing against all middle school grades and not just other six graders. Congratulations to each of you on having a very successful Saturday.
I heard from Carter this last week and they had a great time in New York. He also said that Chase is working construction while looking for a position on a police force…he has an interview with Brentwood police department on Thursday so let’s be praying he’ll get hired on with them. That’s really his first choice with Nashville as his second. Chance is busy at WKU and enjoying the college life.
Clark has another week, or so, in Italy and he’s having a great time there…even working some. Lacey is doing a lot of competition with her roller skating, along with her busy work and college schedule. Sean is now in Missouri with the Army and staying busy there. Branden continues to work with a photographer in Louisville and liking that since that’s his field at UofL.
Guess that’s all the news for now. Please continue to pray for my friend Patty as her cancer is in stage 4 and she’s in quite a bit of pain…she found out about two weeks ago that she had cancer so, she’s having a lot to deal with along with the family. I’m sure hoping to get to the beach a couple more times this week and I continue to thank God for all the beauty associated with it.  I am truly a blessed lady!
Blessings…….
