New Orleans

We met this morning, Tuesday June 26, with a couple of men associated with the Crossroads Missions team and it looks as though we are set to do some more volunteer work in New Orleans.  We told them of all the things we have going on with us and that was fine with them…selling our house, Florida vacation, George doing temporary work at UofL…so we wouldn’t do anything much until the fall.  A lot of what George will be doing can be done from home on the computer once we get a little more established and have a clearer understanding of what he needs to organize…one area will be a guideline of all the job descriptions…both staff and volunteers…the expectations of the volunteers, etc.  It will be an exciting time and everyone needs to know that this is a “mission work” and we ask for your prayers that we may influence and reach others for Christ.

It’s hot in KY again today with a chance of more showers this afternoon.  We still need rain…so, bring it on!  I’ll be on a date with Tyler tomorrow…back to the zoo and the new Water Splash…so hope it won’t rain tomorrow.

George has gone to lunch with a friend and I offered to watch Melissa’s kids while she worked this afternoon, but she already had them loaded up and said they could just go with her.  Bet that’s going to be a fun afternoon for all of them! 

We’ve had a couple of showings on the house and everyone said it’s beautiful, but no offers yet.  It’s going to take time but I’m already ready for this to all be over with. 

We had our small group Bible study last night and it was a very good discussion.  They are all generally unchurched, but are all seekers, so we continue to pray that they will come to know Christ and find the joy only he can offer them.  Each one present is from the same family, except for one, but all of them have had many tragic events in their lives and are looking for some answers.  They are good people and they feel like God has something against them since so many bad things have occured throughout the years.  I love listening and watching them as they come to understand something new or finally get one of their questions answered.  God is definitely working in their lives!

I need to get myself busy…having some reading to do…so enjoy the day.
