Today, Thursday, has been another hot and humid day with some rather heavy rain showers throughout the day.Â
George and I took Kyle and Tyler with us this morning to pull weeds in Clark and Vanessa’s front and side flower beds…I thought the back was done last weekend while Clark was home, but found out as we were leaving that only half of it was done.  Oh well, that will give him something to do this weekend! George ended up taking Vanessa to her doctor for some x-rays. She’s been having a lot of pain the last few days so the doctor wanted to take a look at the fusion. Everything is great and the pain will continue to get worse before it gets better while the nerves, etc. are getting back like they should…she’s to do zero bending, wear her brace, and get lots of rest.  She doesn’t go back for two months.Â
Kyle and Tyler were little troopers in getting the weeds, and a few flowers that looked like a weed to them, out of the beds in spite of the extreme humidity…we were glad when the rain finally got there and cooled everything off. We had a large garbage bag filled to overflowing so the yard looks a lot better. The new owners of their house should be thankful. Vanessa can’t do it since she’s recovering from her surgery, Clark is in Iowa, and the kids just don’t see the weeds, I guess. That is one job I don’t mind and I do all the weeding at our house…easy job when rain has softened the ground.
Tyler and I had a fun date yesterday…another zoo trip. I’m getting my monies worth this year with the grandparent membership card. Kyle and I were suppose to go tomorrow but the youth group at church will be going to Kings Island Amusement Park in Cincinnati tomorrow and, for whatever reason, that sounded more appealing to him. He’d like to go on Saturday but I don’t think that will work out…he’ll be tired from the Kings Island trip and there will be too many people there on a Saturday. Maybe next week!Â
We are counting the days until we leave for vacation. The guys are planning a fishing trip one day and the girls are looking at going to a spa. Spa’s are nice but rather expensive, as is the fishing trip, so not sure how that will work out for everyone.
There’s not much happening with our house right now so we may be in this for the long haul! I just want it to get over with quickly…this holding zone is for the birds!
My broken toe is still sore and I’ve used that excuse for over a week as to why I’m not walking on the treadmill each day. I plan to get back with it tomorrow…it really makes a difference in how I feel.
Have a great night and I’ll again be on the screened porch watching our family of skunks that eat the fallen bird seed around 10 p.m. They are cute…one of the adult skunks is almost all white across it’s back and one of the young is all black except for a white spot on the top of it’s head. We are real quite while watching them because that would be awful to be sprayed by all four should we startle them. We use to see them almost every evening but last night was the first for a family of them.
Blessings…..
