Am I really this OLD?…

Today is my birthday and it hard to believe I’m so OLD.  I use to think people my age were over the hill and almost out for the count, but I don’t feel that way anymore.  I keep telling myself it’s just another day, another year, but when you have to say that number out loud, it’s like…WOW that’s OLD!!!

Yesterday we were able to help Tyler celebrate his special day by taking him to one of his favorite restaurants…The Old Spaghetti Factory…and I was pleasantly surprised that they had a gluten free menu.  The waitress, and several other staff members, sang Happy Birthday to him at the end of his meal so he felt very celebrated.  If the Colts had won the super bowl this would have been the absolute perfect birthday.  As it was, it was his best one yet in his eyes and he got lots of gifts, his favorite foods, money,  and many birthday wishes.

We haven’t heard as to all the celebrating that went on with Chase, but we hope he felt equally celebrated on his special day last Saturday.

Also, while we were in Louisville we were able to visit for a while with a special friend that is suffering with pancreatic and liver cancer.  She may only have 2-3 weeks left on this earth, but she is by far the most calm lady concerning her pending death that I have ever know or talked to.  Her faith in the Lord is strong and she knows without a doubt where her soul is going.  She grieves leaving her husband , son,  and all the extended family members but she is so looking forward to meeting our Lord face to face.  She is an example of something I read in Max Lucado’s book “Fearless” this morning…”a desire to face death unafraid.  To die without fright or a fight…perhaps with a smile”. Patty we will continue to pray for you and you are such an example for all to following during this difficult time.  Love you!!!

I heard this morning that we are to get 2 – 4 more inches of snow tomorrow and I am so hating that!  At least we have sunshine today and that’s a first for several days…sure makes me miss the Florida beaches even more…and we will definitely enjoy every minute of Spring when it finally gets here.

Thanks to all those that have sent me birthday cards and wishes through Face Book.  I feel really special!

Have a wonderful week and let’s all enjoy this week by celebrating our life by doing good for others.

Blessings…….
