The calendar says it’s spring, the flowers have begun to bloom, the grass is turning green, and the heat is still on in the house. We didn’t get any snow from this last front that went across the country but we sure are NOT enjoying a lot of sunshine either. Our days seem to be gloomy, for the most part, but we are TRYING to remain patient while waiting for the warmth to arrive. My patience is wearing thin, however.
George and Jerry spent three days rewiring the rental property and they are still on speaking terms…if they’d had to do it one more day they may not be. That’s a really big job and an old house has a unique way of being wired. Jerry’s girlfriend, Margaret, was a real pleasure to be with during this time. We did a little shopping, went to the elementary school’s academic tournament, and solved most of the world’s problems while the guys were working. She’s a very pleasant lady and I’m hoping we’ll be able to visit her boutique if, and when, we ever return to Alabama.
Meredith was the one in the academic tournament this past Saturday. Her team came in third in the quick recall section and fourth over all. Congratulations Meredith and to all your team members…you all made your school, family, and friends very proud. Again, it’s amazing what these children know and how quick they can give an answer.
All you prayer warriors…please pray for Patty Puleo as she will be having her surgery on Wednesday (3/24) to remove the cancerous tumor from within her pancreas. This is a very difficult and lengthy surgery, I’m sure. She’ll be in the hospital 10 – 14 days, and will then be placed on the liver transplant list to have her cancerous liver removed…as soon as she’s able to withstand another major surgery. As difficult as this all seems, these surgeries gave her hope and the chance at a longer life. Her first diagnosis gave her only one month…and that was with chemo. She’s a believer and is trusting God with whatever the outcome is. Thanks in advance for praying for her.
Have a great week and we’ll try and do the same. We’ll be working on the rental house…along with getting the flowerbeds ready for some spring flowers, if and when the weather co-operates, and I may even plant some pansy’s to brighten up the yard. The daffodils are blooming now and they are so pretty…love the spring time when all of nature comes back alive so that we are once again reminded of who the creator of all this beauty is. Thank you Lord!!
Blessings…….
