Thursday George and I, along with the Crockett’s, went to Dale Hollow State Park Resort Lodge to do a little fishing and boating that would end the Crockett kids spring break. It took us about three hours to get there…it’s close to the Tennessee line…so we didn’t start fishing until mid afternoon. We did some bank fishing and most of us…I caught five baby ones…managed to get a few out of the lake. There will be no pictures of any caught since we forgot our camera and the fish were not worth the effort to use my IPhone. It was fun and the scenery was beautiful.
Friday morning Tanya left very early to go and do the infusion on her patient that she sees twice a week…it was about an hour away from where we were staying…and once she got back it was off to the lake for the next seven hours…we had a pontoon boat rented until 5 p.m. We all fished and fished and caught no fishes! It was a warm day (84) but the water was still rather cold so the fish are not very active yet. We did manage to catch several trees, logs, each other, and we drown all our bait…so the day was a complete success.
Tomorrow is Easter Sunday and we’re looking forward to a good time of worship and then time with both the girls and their families…none of the boys could make it to Wilmore. We will have a good ham dinner with all the trimmings and I’m not sure a Easter egg hunt is on the agenda since the kids are getting older, but we’ll do something. Melissa and the kids will stay until Monday night or Tuesday morning…Byron will have to go back for work. The Gabehart kids are on spring break this week… it would have been great for all to have had the same week off. But that never happens.
Monday we’ll have a birthday celebration for Madi…her actual birthday is Tuesday…and we’re looking forward to that. She’ll get to celebrate twice…once here with the Wilmore crew and another at home with her family. She’s going to be nine and growing up far to fast. George and I will take her to lunch…not sure what Melissa and the boys will be doing…and then when the Crockett kids get home from school we’ll get together for a pizza dinner and birthday celebration.
Our friend, Patty, is still in ICU and is not doing well at all. She’s had three more surgeries to remove infections or repair leaky vessels since her original surgery. She has been on a ventilator for over a week and is no where close to being able to leave the hospital and needs everyone to continue praying for her. Even when she gets home, she has a lot of recovery to do before she can be on the liver transplant list. Therefore, pray – pray – pray!!!
It’s getting late and I’m tired so I’m headed to bed. Hopefully, all reading this will have a very Happy Easter. Enjoy the risen Savior and being with those you love.
Blessings……….
