Today Madi is celebrating her “real” birthday with her family at home. Since the Gabehart’s were here for Easter…Melissa and the kids went home this morning…we celebrated her “fake” birthday…Madi’s words and not mine…yesterday here in Wilmore. We had a great day yesterday with Melissa and her children. We went to Shaker Village and did a little hiking, enjoyed a picnic lunch, and it was an absolutely beautiful, warm day. Then we had a “fake” birthday party…pizza, presents, cake, and ice cream…and we were joined by the Crockett clan so we had a fun “fake” party. Madison is a sweet girl, quite an artist, and ice skating is her newest passion. Happy 9th Birthday Madi. You are loved deeply by your Mimi and I couldn’t be more proud of you.
Today I worked like a Trojan and I’m feeling the effects of having done so. I did 6 or 7 loads of laundry, swept and mopped all the hardwood floors along with the kitchen, cleaned the bathroom, changed all the bed linens, put away some of my winter clothes, got out some of my summer clothes, and then worked at the “rental” house for a couple of hours. George is currently putting tile on the bathroom walls and it’s looking really nice. I worked on the kitchen walls trying to get them ready to be painted. I really can’t paint until George puts up the new wall that will close off a unnecessary door way. This will also extend the cabinet area a touch. Remodeling is a slow process but it is coming along and we have people standing in line wanting to rent it…this is a true statement. It won’t be ready for a couple of months yet, but we feel sure we’ll have renters, or a buyer, come June.
Patsy, one of my sisters-in-law, had a total knee replacement done this afternoon and I’ll be praying for her to have a speedy recovery and to finally be free of pain. Vanessa, Clark’s wife, is on a cruise and I’m jealous! Hoping she’ll have a great time though. The twins are growing like a bad weed and are so adorable! Our friend, Patty, is doing some better and is finally off the ventilator. She’s still in ICU but is making some progress for now. She still needs everyone to continue praying for her to have a complete recovery. My dad was suppose to be back on the golf course today, but I haven’t heard how he did, or felt, but I know he was sure ready to get back out there. Guess that’s about all I know…or can remember…except for one more tidbit…Ryan got his braces off today after having worn them for 4 1/2 years and he’s so delighted. Now maybe he’ll smile when we want to take a picture of him!!!
Have a great week and enjoy these beautiful spring days….it’s absolutely breath taking here in central Kentucky. God continues to bless us far more than we deserve but I am so thankful. Love to each of you…
Blessings……..
