Tomorrow…April 24th…is a very special day. It’s my dad’s birthday and he is 91 years young! He’s had some health issues the last few months, but with lots of prayers, good care by mom and his doctors he’s back on the golf course several days a week…still trying to get that hole-in-one! Happy Birthday, Daddy, and may you be blessed with many more healthy years.
George and I continue to chip away at the “blue house” and a couple of the rooms are almost taking some semblance of looking good…well, let’s just say a whole lot better. George has worked most of this week on plumbing issues and has those corrected so that’s a really good thing! I have done some painting, planted some flowers…curb appeal is important…and I’ve been a “go-fer” for George as needed. Since most of you never saw any “before pictures” you can’t appreciate all we’ve accomplished. This house was a nasty mess and how a family lived there is beyond me. It really is getting cuter but at a snails pace! We usually take Saturday and Sunday as our off days…got to recuperate so we can make it through another week. Most days we enjoy what we’re doing and we…rather George…has learned a lot about all the aspects to remodeling a “nasty” house. Have I mentioned previously that this house was really nasty dirty?
We finally got a little rain and we are so thankful for it…we are way behind normal…and that will hopefully help the grass seed to start growing at the blue house. George has our yard looking beautiful and the flowers I’ve planted are also beautiful. I do believe our yard is the prettiest one around. More rain is predicted off and on for the next few days so that’s encouraging and helps on the water bills. If we don’t get some grass growing before the HOT days arrive, the blue house just may not have any grass until fall. Hope by then there will be new owners for the blue house and it will be their job to get the grass growing.
No more news so guess I’ll go take a hot bath. Have a great weekend everyone and remember to wish my dad a very happy 91st birthday!
Blessings……
