Wow…the weekend went by so fast and now it’s once again Monday morning. We’ve had a lot of rain over the weekend…we are most grateful for that since our area is way behind for the year already…but the Crockett boys managed to get in some of their baseball games.
On Saturday Blake and Grayson played in the morning…drizzle rain when started but sunny when finished…but Jerod’s afternoon game was a total rain out so his team played a makeup game yesterday afternoon. This game was played in strong winds and finished in the rain. Jerod did have a good game and hit one ball over the fence for a home run…that was exciting. Unfortunately, his team members didn’t all do as well and they came up a little short. We didn’t get to see all the game since we were having one of our small groups at our house last night and I needed to do some things for that. Kyle was also having a makeup game yesterday evening but I haven’t heard the results yet. All the boys are doing well this year and they all enjoy it, but it sure keeps everyone busy. Both Daniel and Byron are helping coach the younger boys which is a good thing. Tyler is also a good player and is very competitive…but not as much as Grayson.
This is derby week in Louisville and the weather is not looking very good for some of the activities that go on all week. Rain is predicted through Wednesday, the highs are only in the 50’s, and windy. Let’s hope the week will end up warm and sunny for the BIG race. This is a fun week…something connected to the derby is planned by the city every day…and Louisville is full of visitors. We lived there for over 40 years and never took advantage of a lot of these events but I saw all I wanted…or needed. Going to the derby is fun and I’m thankful we were able to do that on several occasions…people watching is worth the cost of admission. The horses are beautiful and each race is exciting whether you bet or not.
Guess I’d better get up and get myself ready to go to the blue house. Progress is slow, but it is happening. The rain continues here so not much else to do but work over there. Of course, I could do lots of stuff here at our house, but that will just have to wait…too old to do both houses each day and the blue house is in much greater need. Enjoy the week and thanks for all the sweet comments sent to me concerning dad’s birthday. Yes, we are fortunate to have both parents still with us and especially since they continue to do so well…that is for “OLDER” folks!
Blessings……
